About The Walk

Celebrate Earth Day with a free, family-friendly nature walk on Saturday, April 19, at 10 AM at Cactus Rocks Trail in Leander, TX!

This 1–1.5 hour walk is designed for all ages and will focus on:

  •      Mindful movement – Walk with intention and presence.
  •      Mindful breathing – Breathe in the fresh air, exhale the stress.
  •      Sensory awareness – Tune into the sights, sounds, and textures of nature.

About The Trail

Cactus Rocks Trail is a moderate 1.2-mile loop in beautiful Balcones Canyonlands. The trail features stunning limestone outcrops, unique Hill Country flora, and scenic overlooks. Expect a mix of dirt paths and rocky terrain with some slight elevation changes, so sturdy shoes are recommended. 

Please note: dogs are not allowed on this trail.

Directions

From Austin, take I-35 North. Continue on tto Hwy 183 for about 15 miles. Turn left on FM 1431, and take 1431 for about another 15 miles. The entrance for Warbler Vista is on your right, marked by a large sign. Take the gravel road to the parking area on the right. The trailhead for Cactus Rocks trail is directly across the gravel road from the parking area, and is marked by a small sign.

In case of rain, the walk will be canceled/rescheduled.
